Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez has disclosed that Nigeria will be a tougher opponent than Cote D’Ivoire ahead of their AFCON 2019 semi final clash with the Super Eagles.
The Algerian captain also added that the Super Eagles have more time to rest following their 2-1 victory over South Africa.
The Desert Warriors battled the Elephants a day later and played into extra time before winning on penalty shoot-out.

And the three-time African champions are looking like the favourites over the North African opponents as they have never lost to Algeria on the field of play in 29 years.
”Yes, it’s true that Nigeria is a very tough opponent. This is one of the favorites of this competition,” Mahrez was quoted as saying by Le Buteur.
”Nigeria is always playing the leading role in the Africa Cup of Nations. First we will recover well because we will have a day less than them, then we will get to work to be on top of the day.”

But the 2015 African Footballer of the Year is optimistic about their chances of beating Nigeria and qualifying for the final.
